What kind of training is provided to new employees?
Real work for real clients, with ongoing support from attorney supervisors, provides our legal assistants their most important training. In addition, formal training is provided as required by the position.

Each new employee is oriented to the firm, the office and his/her department. In Denver, we provide one full day of computer training. Computer classes are available through Holland & Hart University periodically throughout the year.

What kind of resources and support are provided?
In the Denver office, there are many centralized support services on-site, such as copying, supply room, messengers, conference room hostesses, billing, accounting, library, file clerks, office clerks, PBX operators, reception, mail and fax delivery, word processing, travel agent, marketing, and technical support. Some of these services (e.g., billing, travel agent, etc.) are also available to our other offices, but some are confined to the Denver office for physical reasons (e.g., conference room hostesses, mail and fax delivery, etc.). Regardless, a spirit of teamwork and cooperation is present in all offices, enabling
everyone to get the help they need to do their jobs effectively.

 Is overtime required?
We hope that legal assistants are able to complete their work within our regular 37.5 hour work week. However, working overtime to meet client demands is sometimes unavoidable, especially when assisting with trial preparation or closings. In those instances, legal assistants are compensated for hours worked in excess of a normal work week.

What kind of parking is available?
Available parking varies by office. In Denver, parking is available in public lots around the city and is paid by the individual. A transportation plan is optional such that public transit expenses and/or parking expenses can be paid for with pre-tax dollars.

Are career growth and development opportunities available?
The firm pays for employees to attend job related seminars and workshops approved by the employee's supervisor. Education assistance in the form of tuition reimbursement is also available. We encourage our staff to take advantage of in-house training opportunities, such as computer training classes, and other career enhancement opportunities within the firm.
