"Condo-Mania"
Hiking, horse back riding, fishing. Snow shoeing, skiing, ice climbing. Fireside chats, clear, crisp nights, a dip in the pool. Holland & Hart offers all this and more to the attorneys who sign up to use the firm’s condominiums. The unit in Steamboat Springs has two bedrooms and a loft and comfortably sleeps eight people. The Aspen place, with two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room, sleeps seven. Of course, sights and sounds abound in both locations.Obviously the condos are in high demand, so Nancy Williams-Johnson (everyone’s best friend who is fondly known as the “Condo Queen”) has worked out an elaborate and eminently fair system for sign-up. “The condos are for the complimentary use of all the lawyers in all the offices,” Nancy explains, “and each year we’re able to accommodate just about everyone who wants to spend time there.”
Here, in their own words, are what a few of those happy campers have to say:
“We stayed in the Steamboat condo, and the skiing was fantastic! I’m a new skier, and I got to take lessons. We took some law-school friends with us who had never been skiing before, and we found this to be a great way to introduce out-of-town people to Colorado. And who knows, that getaway just may lead to a business referral in time.”
“These condos provide the encouragement we need to carve out the time we might not otherwise take to spend with our families. As busy as we all are, that’s precious time. I’ve looked forward each year to that getaway with my family, and even more so now that our kids are in college. A favorite memory? Hiking up the Maroon Bells with my daughter and my dad, all of us wearing back packs. That was when our youngest was two, and my mom and dad flew out from New York for a first-ever vacation together. We spent it at the Aspen condo.”
"I had the opportunity to use the Steamboat Springs condo during my first month working at Holland & Hart. It was a beautiful time to be in the mountains; the aspens were just beginning to turn bright yellow. My friends and I hiked up along a waterfall one afternoon and enjoyed the wonderful fall weather. It was a very fun and relaxing weekend."
