Staff Conflicts Clearance Attorney - Denver

Description: The job of the Staff Conflict Clearance Attorney will be to help ensure that our firm and its lawyers do not inadvertently violate the conflict of interest rules that regulate our profession in the jurisdictions in which we operate. This is a critical and complicated task given that we have more than 400 attorneys in 8 jurisdictions and that we represent many thousands of clients who are adverse to many thousands of adversaries. To this end, the staff attorney:
1. Reviews conflict reports for potential new matters for new and existing clients and determines whether taking on the potential new matters involves a conflict of interest. This involves identifying possible conflicts on the conflict report, and contacting the responsible attorneys handling existing matters to resolve those possible conflicts.
2. As needed, performs research on legal issues relating to ethics matters.
3. As needed, performs conflicts checks for new hires firm-wide.
4. Works with staff in client/adversary screening department.
5. As needed, drafts confidentiality walls and secures compliance with them.
6. As needed, assists lawyers with drafting of engagement letter provisions to address conflicts of interest.
7. As needed, acts as a backup to the Staff Ethics and Conflicts Attorneys in reviewing client/matter intake screening memos.
Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS
1. J.D. Degree from ABA-accredited law school.
2. License to practice law in Colorado.
3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
4. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
5. An interest in legal ethics and a willingness to learn.
6. Ability to solve problems and make sound judgments, and willingness to ask for help when needed.
7. Literacy in Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe, Westlaw or Lexis, and Internet search engines. Ability and willingness to learn to perform conflict searches using conflict search software.
OTHER INFORMATION
1. This is a non-partnership track position.
2. There will be no direct client service and no billable hour expectation.
3. Night or weekend work will be rare.
4. Occasional travel to regional offices or CLE seminars may be required.

Description: We are looking for a skilled applications analyst with experience supporting all aspects of enterprise applications, particularly in a Microsoft environment. The successful candidate will have broad knowledge in maintaining, upgrading and optimizing all aspects of a variety of client/server software. Of noted importance will be considerable experience managing Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory and other related components. Recent knowledge and experience in managing ActiveSync and mobiles devices is also required. Reporting to the Applications Manager, the position will assist in the support, development, planning, implementation and monitoring of server based applications.
Responsibilities will include:
Software installation, maintenance and upgrades.
Troubleshooting system issues and where necessary working with vendors to resolve.
Working with other members on the applications team on integration projects.

Description: Accounting Manager to oversee financial accounting, coordinate and review the activities of an accounting staff and assist in the implementation of policies and procedures. Position will report to firms Controller.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
" Coordinate and supervise corporate accounting, treasury and trust practices and procedures.
" Plan and direct our monthly close process including account reconciliations, posting journal entries and budget variance analysis.
" Steer projects assigned by Controller including Financial Statement and Employee Benefit Plan audits.
" Act as liaison with regional offices and external auditors.
" Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure procedures are in place and are being followed in order to safeguard the assets of the firm.

Supervisory Responsibilities Management of corporate accounting staff performing all aspects of accounting including general ledger, accounts payable, expense reporting, treasury, trust and fixed assets; assist the Controller with interviewing and training employees in addition to directing work and appraising performance.
Requirements: Education and Experience CPA, Bachelors degree in Accounting and 3 5 years accounting experience. Public accounting, supervisory experience and law firm expertise would be ideal.
